The Team

AdamsIP was founded as a solo practice focused on serving the needs of small businesses, universities, and entrepreneurs. Since that time, we have been fortunate to work with many exciting and inspiring clients from all over the world. Our relationships, and the growth of the businesses we serve, has enabled AdamsIP to grow beyond a solo practice to a team of attorneys as exciting and inspiring as our clients.

One of AdamsIP’s greatest strengths is its people and we are proud to introduce you to the AdamsIP team.

At heart, I am a businessperson who loves working with businesses and learning about my clients’ products, processes, and brands. Forming an intellectual property strategy with a new client is what I enjoy most about being an intellectual property lawyer.  Working with my clients to identify, solidify, and protect intellectual property assets is why referrals have remained our primary source of new clients.

Siegal Intellectual Property Moot Court Team.

I love helping protect our clients’ vision. Our clients live life on their own terms, and it is rewarding to see their hard work develop into a successful brand. Trademark law is challenging, complex, and interesting, but above all, it allows me to work with people and companies I admire.

I focus my practice on trademark selection, clearance, prosecution, and enforcement, including proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

I first developed an interest in branding during college internships at CNN and MTV. I graduated from The University of Alabama, summa cum laude, and The University of Alabama School of Law, cum laude, where I served on the Alabama Law Review, Campbell Moot Court Board, and the Bruce B. Siegal Intellectual Property Moot Court Team.

Representative Matters:
  • Filed over 150 federal trademark applications, protecting a variety of goods and services, including clothing, software, and consumer products
  • Regularly overcomes Office Actions refusing to register trademarks based on “likelihood of confusion,” among other issues
  • Successfully petitioned to cancel trademark registration blocking registration of client’s trademark
Education:
  • The University of Alabama, B.A., summa cum laude
  • The University of Alabama School of Law, J.D., cum laude
Admissions:
  • Alabama

  • Eastern District of Louisiana

I take great pride in working with companies and individuals to identify protectable products and processes and then draft patent applications to protect those inventions. I especially enjoy working directly with inventors to draft a patent application that really captures the essence of each invention.

I am a registered patent attorney and focus my practice on patent preparation and prosecution.

I grew up in the New Orleans area, and earned a law degree from The Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University and a B.S. in chemical engineering from Louisiana State University. Before going to law school, I worked in industry for several years at a polymer plant as a process engineer over the plant’s distillation and reactor units.

  • Handled office actions with the USPTO in fields ranging from chemical compositions to mechanical processes
  • Handled intellectual property license negotiations on behalf of client
